How can Talk Cancer benefit me?
Delivered by CRUK nurse trainers, this interactive workshop will:
- Increase knowledge of key messages about reducing the risk of cancer, national cancer screening programmes, and spotting cancer early.
- Build confidence to talk to with people within our communities about cancer.
- Help you to encourage people to access local services and visit their GP promptly with any concerns.
At the workshop you will be provided with a copy of a Talk Cancer information booklet which summarises everything covered, including links to further sources of information and support. You will also receive a certificate of attendance and a badge that can help to start conversations when you are out in the community.
Is the training suitable for me?
As a volunteer who interacts with people within our communities, this training can help you to support conversations about cancer as and when the opportunity arises.
